Quotable:
"Luke is a fantastic coach and a real asset to our program," said Head Cross Country Coach Owen. "He's adapted to the change between athlete and coach exceptionally well, and he's really risen to the occasion to work with a variety of event groups. He was a distance athlete himself, but he's taken our sprint group under his wing and made substantial improvements to our overall program design. His background in Biology gives him a science based approach to training design and theory, and it's paying off in performance for our team. We're very lucky to have him as a home-grown member of our coaching staff!"
"Luke has really developed into a quality coach and I expect to see great growth from the athletes he oversees," Head Track & Field Coach Young added. "He has been quite adept at adapting training to the responses of the athletes and I expect that will translate nicely to performance. He also has an innate understanding of the interpersonal side of coaching allowing him to connect very well with our athletes."
