Of note, The Huskies will begin competition on Thursday, showcasing a roster of 30 men and 20 women for the championships. Wednesday's competition schedule will feature student-athletes competing in the decathlon and heptathlon.

Michigan Tech saw two GLIAC Track Athletes of the Week with Clayton Sayen earning the honor for the week of Mar. 27 while Jesse Jacobusse recently earned the weekly honor for the first time for the week of Apr. 24.

Jacobusse was All-GLIAC in the women's 800m after her third-place finish and enters the conference meet with the second-fastest time in the GLIAC with her 2:10.39 effort, being run at the Phil Esten Challenge.

Sayen will look to defend his 1,500m title from last year's conference championships, where he set the new GLIAC record with his 3:47.57 effort.

He will be joined by teammate Sam Lange, who placed fourth in the 1,500m a year ago, although he enters the meet with the fourth-fastest time run this season with his 3:47.18 season-opener.

The Huskies have All-GLIAC potential in the women's high jump and the men's pole vault. Jamie Hendrickson's 5-3 (1.60m) clear ranks her third in the conference, along with the new school record holder in Landon Cosby's 15-9 (4.80m) clearance, also being third within the GLIAC.

One Last Thing

The men of Michigan Tech will look to the longer distance events to earn valuable points in the team standings. Tucker Ringhand (5,000m), Nick McKenzie (10,000m) and Kyle Samluk (3,000m steeplechase) lead the Huskies in their respective events entered in the conference championships.
