HILLSDALE, Mich. — Michigan Tech had four athletes compete in the final day of the Gina Relays at Hillsdale College.

Kyle Petermann had the top finish with a third place showing in the discus with a toss of 153-4. Already the school record holder in the event, Petermann posted another top-10 throw in school history, giving him nine of the 10 marks on the list.

Two other Huskies threw the discus as well. Jonathan Vincent had a best effort of 126-10 in the men's. Ellen Hetcher went 111-3 in the women's.

In the men's javelin, Casey Buckner took seventh place with a distance of 154-7, his best throw of the season.

"Kyle had a good day with a top-three performance," said Tech coach Joe Haggenmiller. "Being here was good experience for our athletes, who will be back in a few days."

Hillsdale hosts the GLIAC Championships next week with the decathlon and heptathlon starting Wednesday (Apr. 29) and the bulk of the events beginning Thursday (Apr. 30).
