SERIES NOTES

• Michigan Tech and Ferris State meet for their second series this month Friday and

Saturday (Oct. 30-31) at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena in Houghton. The Huskies and Bulldogs split a two-game series Oct. 16-17 in Big Rapids, with Tech winning, 5-1, Friday before FSU rallied for a 3-2 victory on Saturday night.

• This marks the first time Tech has hosted Ferris State since Jan. 24-15, 2014. The two teams split that weekend series in Houghton, but the Huskies boast a 6-2-1 all-time mark against Ferris State on home ice.

• Michigan Tech has won four of its last five games against Ferris State and holds a 13-9-1 edge in the all-time series with the Bulldogs.

• The Huskies and Bulldogs played three times last season, with Tech winning each of those contests. The Black and Gold swept the then No. 8-ranked Bulldogs on Oct. 24-25, 2014, in Big Rapids (1-0, 2-1) before knocking off Ferris, 4-2, in the third-place game at the Great Lakes Invitational in Detroit.

• Tech owns the longest winning streak in series history (five games), which lasted from Dec. 18, 1982 through Nov. 19, 1983.

• The in-state rivals played just twice between the 1983-84 and 2013-14 seasons, as Tech was a member of the WCHA while the Bulldogs played in the CCHA.

• Seniors Malcolm Gould and Alex Petan lead the Huskies in goals (3) and points (5) against the Bulldogs. Freshman winger Brett Boeing has collected a team-high four assists vs. Ferris - all of which came in his first game as a Husky on Oct. 16.

• Goaltender Jamie Phillips is 5-4-0 in his career against Ferris State with a 1.79 goals against average and .941 save percentage. Phillips stopped 60 of the 64 shots he faced on opening weekend in Big Rapids. The senior posted a perfect 3-0-0 mark vs. the Bulldogs last winter with a 1.00 goals against average and .971 save percentage.

• Ten Michigan Tech skaters have notched at least two points in their careers vs. FSU. Seven other players have single points and 23 total players have been in the lineup for an outing against the Bulldogs.

• Petan matched his career-highs in goals (2) and points (3) Friday, Oct. 16, at Ferris State. The senior captain scored twice on the power play and assisted on another power-play marker for his 25th career multi-point game.

• Gould buried twice on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the series finale at FSU - his third two-goal game as a Husky. The senior forward added an assist Friday night in Big Rapids for his 50th career point.

• The Huskies have won eight of their last 10 games in October dating back to 2013-14. Michigan Tech went 5-0-0 in the month last season en route to a 10-0-0 start to the 2014- 15 campaign.

• Michigan Tech is 13-4-1 in its last 18 games against teams from Michigan, including five series sweeps and eight wins away from Houghton. The Huskies went 9-2-1 against in- state competition last season.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE

The Huskies have compiled a perfect 10-0-0 record in their last 10 games at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Michigan Tech is 24-10-3 at the Mac since 2013-14, including a 15-5-0 mark at the rink last winter. The Black and Gold have outscored opponents, 40-10, in their 10-game home unbeaten streak and have surrendered one goal or less in eight of those outings.

Five players on the Michigan Tech roster have been selected in the NHL Entry Draft. Tech's five drafted players is the most of any program in the WCHA.
