The Michigan Tech women’s tennis team wrapped up its 2013-14 season with four matches at Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head last week. The Huskies went 1-3 on the trip and finished the year with a 6-18 mark.

Eighteen students associated with Michigan Tech Athletics received degrees at last Saturday’s (Dec. 14) commencement cermony. The group includes four who earned master’s degrees and 14 who earned bachelor’s degrees.
Lebedeva and Suthijindawong Earn All-GLIAC First Team

Michigan Tech women’s tennis players Natalia Lebedeva (Nakhodka, Russia) and Kwang Suthijindawong (Bangkok, Thailand) were both named All-GLIAC First Team the league announced today. The Huskies were one of only two teams to have two players earn all-league first team honors.

Michigan Tech wrapped up its 2013 fall women’s tennis season with a 7-2 victory over Lake Superior State today. The Huskies finished their GLIAC campaign with a 5-9 record—tied for ninth of 15 teams in the league.

Michigan Tech won its second straight women’s tennis match—this one a 5-4 decision over Saginaw Valley State—to improve to 4-9 on the season. The Huskies took four of the six singles matches to earn the team win.

Michigan Tech women’s tennis snapped a six-match skid with a 6-3 victory over Findlay Saturday (Oct. 5) at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies won two of the three doubles flights and four of the six singles matches to improve to 3-9 overall.

The Michigan Tech women’s tennis team had a chance to pick up its third team win of the season today but Hillsdale came away with a 6-3 victory at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies, who are 2-9 overall and 2-9 in GLIAC play, have suffered six of their nine losses by 6-3 counts.

Wayne State defeated Michigan Tech 6-3 in women’s tennis today at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies claimed wins at the top two singles flights and No. 1 doubles to account for their three points.

Northwood defeated Michigan Tech 7-2 in GLIAC women’s tennis today. The Huskies (2-7) garnered one point in doubles and another in singles but didn’t have the firepower to hand the Timberwolves (10-0) their first loss of the season.

Michigan Tech fell 6-3 in women’s tennis today at Grand Valley State. The Huskies are now 2-6 on the season while the Lakers are 6-1.
Tennis Nipped by Bulldogs 5-4

The Michigan Tech tennis team came up one point short in a 5-4 loss at Ferris State today in GLIAC action. The difference in the match was doubles, where the host Bulldogs took two of three to earn the win.

The Michigan Tech women’s tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Walsh today to wrap up a three-match road swing. The Huskies now sport a 2-4 overall record and identical GLIAC slate.

Michigan Tech women’s tennis remained perfect on its road trip with a second straight 9-0 victory over Lake Erie. The Huskies improved to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in GLIAC action with the win.
