Women's Tennis Earns 6-3 Win over Findlay

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech women's tennis snapped a six-match skid with a 6-3 victory over Findlay Saturday (Oct. 5) at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies won two of the three doubles flights and four of the six singles matches to improve to 3-9 overall.

Natalie Lebedeva and Kwang Suthijindawong continued to roll at No. 1 doubles, posting their 11th win in 12 dual matches this year with an 8-2 score. The No. 2 pairing of Erika Tenizbaeva and Emilia Tenizbaeva was also victorious 8-6.

Lebedeva and Suthijindawong both gave up just two games in two sets in singles. It was a 6-1, 6-1 final for Lebedeva at No. 1 while Suthijindawong posted a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at NO. 2.

Audrey Hutton improved to 4-8 on the season with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles. Tech freshman Kat Donovan claimed her second career victory with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 super tiebreaker decision at No. 6.

Michigan Tech is in the midst of a five-match home stand that will conclude next weekend. The Huskies host Saginaw Valley State Friday (Oct. 11) at noon and Lake Superior State Sunday (Oct. 13) at 10 a.m.
