GVSU Downs Huskies 6-3 in Women's Tennis
ALLENDALE, Mich. — Michigan Tech fell 6-3 in women's tennis today at Grand Valley State. The Huskies are now 2-6 on the season while the Lakers are 6-1.
Tech's top players continued to roll. Natalia Lebedeva battled to a 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 win in a super tiebreaker at No. 1 singles. Kwang Suthijindawong remained unbeaten in singles with a 6-0, 6-3 score at No. 2.
The Huskies pair also combined for an 8-6 triumph at No. 1 doubles as well, accounting for the third team point.
GVSU claimed the other matches in straight sets. No. 3 singles player Erika Tenizbaeva was the closest of the matches, losing 7-5, 6-1.
Michigan Tech will wrap up its second consecutive three-match road weekend with a tilt at Northwood tomorrow at 10 a.m.
