HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech cross country team has crossed the midpoint of the season, and they look to continue their push towards the championship races as the Huskies travel to Illinois to run in the Conference Crossover Invitational. The race, hosted by Lewis University, will be held on Saturday (Oct. 12) at the Lewis XC Course.

The Huskies last ran on Friday (Oct. 4) at the Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire, Wisconsin saw many of their runners break personal best times. With both squads comprised of runners looking to impress and run for the Huskies during the championship races, the women finished 10th with 332 points and the men placed 18th as a team with 513 points.

Michigan Tech finds both teams ranked in the men's and women's USTFCCCA Division II National and Regional polls this week. The men's team is ranked third in the Midwest Region and 11th in the country, while the women are ranked seventh in the Midwest Region and received votes in the latest national poll.

"This weekend is going to be a big test for us, specifically for the women," said head coach Jake Isaacson. "We want to see that they're back to being a top three, top two team in the region, which I think we are right now. And on the men's side, we're trying to fill in the six through ten positions for the GLIAC Championships."

The women will run first at 11 a.m. EST in the 6K race, followed by the men's 8K race at 11:45 a.m. EST. Links to the race information page and the live results page have been included at the top of the page.
