Braden Reichl Qualifies for NCAA National Championships

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech sophomore cross country runner Braden Reichl has been selected to run at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships. Reichl is one of five individual runners selected to run from the Midwest Region.

Reichl becomes the third male Michigan Tech cross country runner to compete at an NCAA National Championship meet, and the first since Sean Pengelly in 2014. Reichl received USTFCCCA All-Midwest Region honors for finishing 11th at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Hillsdale, Michigan. Reichl also received First Team All-GLIAC recognition for finishing sixth at the GLIAC Championships, becoming the highest-placing male Michigan Tech runner at a GLIAC Championship in program history.

A sophomore from Green River, Wyoming, Reichl has run in five meets this season and was the top finisher for the Huskies in each race. Reichl set a personal best in a 6k race at the GLIAC Championships with a time of 25:09.8, and he set a personal best in a 10k race at the Midwest Regional Championships with a time of 32:07.0.

The 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships will take place on December 1 at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Hosted by Slippery Rock University, the men's 10k race will begin at 11 a.m.
