Jake Isaacson Named USTFCCCA Midwest Region Women's Coach of the Year

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech cross country head coach Jake Isaacson has been named the Midwest Region Women's Coach of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It's the first time a Michigan Tech head coach has won the award in the history of the program.

In his second year as head coach of the Huskies, Isaacson coached three women's runners to All-Midwest Region finishes and a third-place team finish with 116 points at the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships this past Saturday, qualifying them for the NCAA National Championships for the first time in program history. Additionally, the Michigan Tech women took second at the GLIAC Championships with 71 team points and had four runners earn All-GLIAC honors under Isaacson's coaching. 

The Michigan Tech women's cross country team will run at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday (Dec. 1) at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
