WEEKEND MATCHES
• Michigan Tech wraps up the regular season this weekend at the SDC Gym.
• The Huskies host Parkside Friday at 6 p.m. and Purdue Northwest Saturday at 3 p.m.
• Tech is 17-9 overall and 9-7 in the GLIAC
• The seven seniors will be honored on the court after Saturday's match as Carissa Beyer, Lina Espejo-Ramirez, Janie Grindland, Jillian Kuizenga, Grace Novotny, Maggie Petersen, and Morgan Radtke will play their last regular season match.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Parkside is 9-18 overall and 3-13 in the GLIAC. The conference wins are over Wayne State, Purdue Northwest, and Saginaw Valley State. The Rangers were picked eighth in the GLIAC Preseason Poll. Reese Rossnagel ranks third in the GLIAC in kills per set (3.47) and Lindsay Krznarich leads the conference in blocks per set (0.98).
• Purdue Northwest is 9-19 overall and 2-14 in the GLIAC. The conference wins are over Lake Superior State and Parkside. The Pride was picked 10th in the GLIAC Preseason Poll. Middle blocker Erica Brohm was named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention last year.

FIRST MEETING
• UWP - Tech won the final three sets to earn a 3-2 win at Parkside on Sept. 24. The Rangers won the first two 25-23 and 25-19 before the Huskies rallied 25-18, 25-17, and 15-6 at De Simone Arena. Four Huskies found double figures offensively with Jillian Kuizenga leading the way with 14 kills. Makena Wesol had 13 kills while hitting .407 and Morgan Radtke hit .440 with 12 kills and five blocks. Lindy Oujiri also added a dozen kills. Lina Espejo-Ramirez set a career-high with 50 assists and added 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Carissa Beyer dug up 23 balls and Brooke Dzwik added 11 digs.
• PNW - Tech swept Purdue Northwest on Sept. 23 at the Fitness and Recreation Center. The Huskies won 25-15, 25-16, and 25-19. Morgan Radtke and Lindy Oujiri each finished with a match-high nine kills. Radtke added four blocks and three assists. Lina Espejo-Ramirez set the attack with 29 assists and added nine digs and five kills. Carissa Beyer (16 digs) and Kate Walch (10 digs) led the defense.

LAST WEEKEND
• The Huskies split their weekend downstate to wrap up the road schedule.
• The Huskies fell 3-0 at Wayne State Friday and defeated Saginaw Valley State 3-2 Saturday.
Meg Raabe (3.0 k/s) led the offense while Lina Espejo-Ramirez (10.82 a/s) set the attack, and Carissa Beyer (7.0 d/s) led the defense.

GLIAC STATISTICAL RANKINGS
• Lina Espejo-Ramirez is second in assists per set (9.74).
• Carissa Beyer is second in digs per set (5.14).
• Morgan Radtke is sixth in solo blocks (15).
• Grace Novotny is sixth in aces per set (0.39).
• Jillian Kuizenga ranks 10th in kills per set (2.97).
• Morgan Radtke is 14th in hitting percentage (.248).

1,000 DIGS
• Grace Novotny eclipsed 1,000 digs for her career on August 27 against Cal State Monterey Bay.
• She currently stands at 1,169 digs to rank ninth in program history.
• Novotny ranks 12th amongst active NCAA Division II players with 133 matches played and 15th with 472 sets played.

PRESEASON GLIAC POLL
• In the 2022 Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Huskies were picked second in the GLIAC behind Grand Valley State.
• The Lakers had 68 points and the Huskies received 66 points. Wayne State was third with 64 points and Ferris State (62) rounded out the top four. Davenport (55), Northern Michigan (48), Saginaw Valley State, and Parkside (26) were also in the top eight. Lake Superior State and Purdue Northwester were ninth and tenth.

COACH JENNINGS
• Head coach Matt Jennings is in his 10th season and has won 188 matches overall.
• Under Jennings, the Huskies have gone from last place in the conference to nationally ranked and consistently in the NCAA Tournament.
• Jennings has coached the Huskies to four straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2017-21.
• He was named the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2017 and led the team to a program record of 10 straight wins to start the 2016 season.
• The 2021 spring team won a GLIAC Regular Season title for the second time in program history with the 2021 team repeating the feat in outright fashion.

COACHING PROMOTIONS
• Cindy Pindral was promoted to Assistant Head Coach in the offseason.
• Head Coach Matt Jennings was added to the NCAA Women's Volleyball National Committee and will represent the Midwest Region until September 2026.

LAST SEASON
• Tech finished the 2021 fall season with a 25-7 overall record and ranked No. 22 in the final AVCA Top 25 poll.
• The Huskies won the GLIAC Regular Season Championship for the second straight season and the third time in program history with a 14-1 conference record.
• The Black and Gold went to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Midwest Regional Semifinal for the fifth time in school history.
