Dragons 3, Huskies 1 in GLIAC Volleyball

TIFFIN, Ohio — Michigan Tech experienced a 3-1 setback at Tiffin in GLIAC volleyball tonight. The scores were 25-21, 25-18, 25-27 and 25-22. The Huskies won the third set to pull within 2-1 but couldn't complete the comeback.

Stats showed the Huskies hurt themselves with as many errors (16) as kills (16) in the first two sets combined. The Dragons posted a combined 28 kills to take the 2-0 advantage.

Tech battled back in the third set, pounding 18 kills including four down the stretch. Trailing 23-22, Jordanna Kero, Shelby Jones and Sylvie Rokosh (2) all had put aways to lift their squad to the 27-25 victory.

The teams were tied at 20-all in the fourth set before Tiffin won five of the final seven points. Bridget Boyle had two key kills among the end points.

TU had two players in double digits in kills including Chelsea Stockmeyer's match-high 17. Tech was led by Kienna Sharp's 11 kills. Setter Madeline Haben had a strong all-around match with 36 assists, a team-high 16 digs and four kills.

Michigan Tech will play at Ohio Dominican tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. to wrap up their play against GLIAC South Division teams this season.
