Huskies Ranked in Latest ITA National Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Michigan Tech women's tennis team is ranked 50th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II National Poll, announced earlier this week by the national office. The Huskies join three other Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams in the ranking, which include Grand Valley State at No. 20, Wayne State at No. 21, and Northwood University tied at No. 30.

The Huskies are 10-7 on the season and finished with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record of 7-2 during the fall. Tech was the No. 3 seed in the GLIAC tournament and during the regular season notched a key win over Wayne State University. The Huskies were ranked 9th in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Poll back in January.

The Huskies have battled through some injuries during the spring schedule and competed against top competition, including NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay. Tech defeated Kutztown 7-0 during the annual Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina at the Spring Tennis Fest.
