Women's Tennis Takes Down Lake Superior State, 7-2

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Four singles players won their matches and Michigan Tech swept the doubles competition to help the Huskies cruise to a 7-2 win over Lake Superior State today (Oct. 16) in a women's tennis match at Gates Tennis Center.

"I thought the doubles play really set the tone for the rest of the day," said head coach Kevin Kalinec. "They way we battled through and came away with victories really says a lot about the players we have on our team. I'm very proud of this group."

The three doubles team for the Huskies all rallied in big ways to sweep that portion of the day. The No. 1 team of Vicky Quinde and Sandra Cvetanovic rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win 9-7, while No. 2 doubles pairing Emilia Tenizbaeva and Allenca Rolim and the No. 3 duo of Kat Donovan and Natalia Alvarez both came back from 5-2 holes to clinch victories 9-7 and 9-8, respectively.

The Black and Gold were winners at No. 1, 4, 5 and 6 singles to close out the victory.

With the win, Tech wraps up the 2015 season with a record of 3-8, including wins in it last two matches.
