Tech Women's Tennis Falls at Saginaw Valley
SAGINAW, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State defeated Michigan Tech, 8-1, in women's tennis today (Sept. 20) in a GLIAC matchup at the SVSU Outdoor Courts.
The Huskies earned their lone win at No. 1 doubles, where Vicky Quinde and Sandra Cvetanovic completed a 9-8 victory in a tiebreaker.
Saginaw Valley won each of the singles matches in straight sets and earned 8-4 and 8-1 wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions, respectively.
"They were the better team and we just weren't deep enough," said head coach Kevin Kalinec. "Overall we did some good things and our No. 1 doubles played a very smart match."
Michigan Tech is off next weekend before returning home Oct. 3-4 for conference matches with Wayne State and Hillsdale.
