Suthijindawong Named GLIAC Player of the Year

BAY CITY, Mich. - Michigan Tech's Kwang Suthijindawong (Bangkok, Thailand) has been selected as the GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year by league coaches it was announced today. The junior is the first player in school history to earn the honor.

Other GLIAC awards went to Sandra Cvetanovic (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Emilia Tenizbaeva (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) who were named All-GLIAC Second Team and All-GLIAC Honorable Mention, respectively.

Suthijindawong, the Huskies' No. 1 player, completed her third perfect season in GLIAC singles with a 12-0 mark in 2014. A three-time All-GLIAC First Team honoree, she is 36-0 in her GLIAC career.

Cvetanovic put together a 6-6 mark in GLIAC singles play at No. 2. She was also part of Tech's top doubles duo that went 11-1 on the year.

Tenizbaeva played No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Huskies. She was 4-8 in singles and 3-9 in doubles action.

Michigan Tech finished its 2014 fall women's tennis season with a 4-8 mark.
