HOUGHTON, Mich. – For the first time in over a month, the Michigan Tech women's basketball team returns to the SDC Gymnasium to continue GLIAC play, welcoming No. 11 Ferris State on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Lake Superior State Saturday at 1 p.m.

About the Bulldogs

Ferris State enters the week with the least amount of games played in the league, yet holds a record of 8-2 overall and 2-1 in the loop. The Bulldogs are 2-1 in the new year with the loss coming against East Coast Conference affiliate Daemen (61-56) on Jan. 3.

The Bulldogs are averaging a league-high 76.9 points per outing with the third most assists per game nationally (19.0). Mallory McCartney produces 5.5 assists per game, which ranks 12th in the country. 

Chloe Idoni, the GLIAC Preseason Player of the Year, does it all for the Bulldogs with her team-leading 17.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She has made 37 free throws while shooting 92.5 percent from the charity stripe, which is fourth-best nationally.

McCartney chips in 12.6 points per game, making 2.7 3-pointers per game, at a top-25 clip of 43.5 percent. Kadyn Blanchard also adds double-figure scoring for FSU with 11.2 points per outing.

About the Lakers

Lake Superior State enters the second week of the calendar year with an overall ledger of 1-11 and 0-3 in conference play. The Lakers are on a two-game losing streak in January.

Grace Bradford was named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 2, following the Lakers' first win of the season over Illinois-Springfield, where Bradford posted a double-double for her first Player of the Week honor of her career with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Bradford leads the Lakers with 12.8 points and 10.6 rebounds and has five double-doubles so far this season, ranking third in the league. She averages 8.2 defensive rebounds, which ranks sixth nationally.

First-year guard Breah Golden joins Bradford in double-digit scoring with 10.6 points a game.

About the Huskies 

Michigan Tech returns to the SDC gymnasium for the first time in over a month, holding an overall standing of 6-6 while playing to a 2-2 record in GLIAC play.

Most recently, the Huskies split the first road GLIAC weekend of the season, concluding the trip with a 59-51 victory at Davenport. In the win, Katelyn Meister scored a season-high 18 points to go with a team-high five rebounds, three steals and one block. Sara Dax also scored in double-figures with 11 points and four rebounds.

The Huskies are led offensively by Isabella Lenz with 12.4 points per game. She is joined in double-figure scoring by Katelyn Meister (10.6) and Alyssa Wypych (10.4). Lenz logs a GLIAC-leading 33.51 minutes per outing and is one of the nation's best free-throw shooters, making 43 free throws through 12 games at a clip of 91.5 percent.

As a team, the Huskies are scoring 61.8 points a game while averaging over 10 free-throw makes a game, at 79.1 percent, ranking 11th in the country.

Alex Rondorf returned to action in the opening road weekend and joins Meister as the teams leading rebounder with 5.2 rebounds per outing.
