HOUGHTON, Mich The Michigan Tech women's basketball team has one game remaining in their three-game road trip in Minnesota, facing Concordia-St. Paul at the Gangelhoff Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

About the Golden Bears

Concordia-St. Paul is on a three-game win streak with a 4-1 overall record and 1-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Bears completed a weekend sweep on Nov. 17-18, traveling to GLVC foes Maryville (74-68) Friday and Truman State (74-72) Saturday. Most recently, CSP opened conference play with a narrow win at Winona State 53-52 on Tuesday (Nov. 21).

CSP has a well-rounded offense, with senior guard Ally Gietzel scoring a team-leading 17.2 points per game. She is joined by forwards Lindsey Becher (16.2) and Lauren Wilson (13.4) in double-figure scoring. The trio also are the top-three rebounders for the Golden Bears, with Gietzel garnering 6.2 rebounds per game as Becher and Wilson chip in 5.6 rebounds per outing.

Becher has been a problem for opponents on both ends of the floor, averaging two blocks a game and 1.2 steals.

Concordia-St. Paul averages 67.8 points per game, with over half of those points coming from in the paint. The Golden Bears saw a season-high 48 points in the paint in the win over Truman State. Additionally, CSP has made 4.2 3-pointers per game at 25.6 percent.

Amanda Johnson is in her ninth season at the helm of the Golden Bears, who were selected to finish seventh in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

About the Huskies

Michigan Tech opened its three-game road trip to Minnesota with a weekend split, falling at No. 25 Minnesota Duluth (69-59) on Saturday before routing St. Cloud State (74-68) on Sunday for an overall record of 4-2.

The Huskies put up a valiant effort against the Bulldogs, seeing a double-double from Alex Rondorf with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sara Dax also produced a season-high 10 rebounds to go with six points.

Alyssa Wypych also gave it her all, scoring a career-high 19 points on 7-for-13 from the field and 3-for-4 from the foul line to lead the team. She followed up with her first 20-point game in the win against St. Cloud State the following day, making her first five 3-pointers in addition to a career-high three steals.

The Huskies have been one of the best shooting teams in the nation through six games, shooting 50.0 percent from the field, ranking fifth nationally and 86 percent from the free-throw line, residing second in Division II.

Wypych leads MTU with 16.2 points per game and 97 points this season. Three additional starters are among double-figure scoring in Isabella Lenz (13.3), Rondorf (12.2) and Katelyn Meister (10.7). Rondorf leads the Huskies in rebounds with 6.8 per outing.

One Last Thing

Head coach Sam Clayton is one win away from her 100th career win at the helm of the Huskies, which would mark the fifth coach in program history to hit the milestone.
