Trotter Selected to GLIAC All-Tournament Team

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Sophomore Cassidy Trotter of the Michigan Tech women's basketball team was named to the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team, announced following the conclusion of Sunday's championship game.

Trotter, a guard from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, had a big week for the Huskies in the GLIAC Tournament. Trotter poured in 20 points to power Tech past Northwood 78-48 in the quarterfinal round Tuesday night and followed that up with a career high 21 points against sixth ranked Ashland in the semifinal round on Saturday. In addition to her scoring totals, Trotter combined for nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals in the two postseason games.

Trotter was named Second Team All-GLIAC and was picked for the GLIAC All-Defensive Team Friday night prior to the GLIAC semifinal games. Trotter leads the GLIAC in steals per game (2.6) and is fifth overall in the league for assists per game at 3.6. Trotter played in all 30 contests this season with 29 starts and ranked second on the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game.

The Huskies are 21-9 overall and will wait to see if they earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament. Tech was ranked 8th in the most recent poll which was released on Wednesday. The tournament field of the top eight teams in the region will be announced Sunday night at 10 p.m. eastern time.
