Blake Earns Weekly Honor from GLIAC

BAY CITY, Mich. — Danielle Blake (Midland, Mich.) earned the final GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division Player of the Week Award it was announced today by the league office.

Blake helped the Huskies claim their 14th GLIAC title with an 80-38 victory over Northern Michigan—the largest margin of victory for Tech in the all-time series. The 6-0 forward posted 23 points, six assists, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals. She also helped hold her main defensive assignment to 1-for-12 from the field.

Tech finished its regular season at 19-7 overall and 17-5 in GLIAC play to share the GLIAC North Division crown.

Blake, who has now earned the honor twice (Jan. 25 and Feb. 26), is Michigan Tech's fourth GLIAC Player of the Week in 2015-16. Morgan Anderson (Dec. 7) and Kylie Moxley (Feb. 22) were the others.

The Huskies will play in their 26th consecutive GLIAC Tournament starting Tuesday (Mar. 1). No. 3-seeded Tech hosts No. 6-seeded Grand Valley State for a 6 p.m. tipoff. Michigan Tech is the only program league history to play in every GLIAC Tournament.
