MIDLAND, Mich. — Michigan Tech torched the nets for a season-high in points in a 90-69 victory at Northwood today. Midland native Danielle Blake tallied 20 points, seven blocks, six assists and five rebounds in her homecoming to help Tech gain its first win at the Bennett Center since 2013.

The Huskies made 57 percent of their field goals and 12-of-24 3-pointers to improve to 12-5 overall and 10-3 in league play.

Northwood led 13-12 midway through the first quarter before Tech caught fire. The Black and Gold went on a 13-3 run to close the frame up 25-16. The lead grew to 46-32 by halftime.

Lindsay Winter drained a 3-pointer and Mackenzie Perttu added another to push the gap to 20 early in the third quarter. The margin climbed to as high as 31 in the second half.

"This was a big win for us—especially for our veteran players who haven't won here the last two years," said Tech coach Kim Cameron. "We were able to score inside, then pass it out when they doubled us and make open shots."

Morgan Anderson, playing in her first game since Jan. 9, hit four triples in the opening half and finished with 12 points. Perttu (17 points), Winter (16) and Kylie Moxley (16) also reached double figures.

Northwood (10-9, 6-7 GLIAC) shot 42 percent from the floor. Their trapping pressure forced 12 Tech turnovers, but the Huskies scored as many points (16) off of turnovers as the hosts.

Tech blocked 14 NU shots, coming within two of the school record of 16 (vs. Lewis in 2011).

Michigan Tech, which has won three straight games, will continue its road trip on Saturday (Jan. 30) when it plays at Lake Superior State. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m.

Note: Blake's seven blocks tied a school record that she already shared. The other seven-block games in school history: Danielle Blake vs. Northwood, 1/29/15; Lisa Staehlin vs. Lewis, 3/11/2011.
