BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Michigan Tech jumped out to a 19-point lead just 10 minutes into the game and never looked back in a 78-49 victory at Ferris State tonight in GLIAC women's basketball. Five Huskies scored in double figures to lift Tech's record to 9-4 overall and 7-2 in league play.

Michigan Tech had everything clicking in the first half and built up a 47-17 lead. The Black and Gold shot 55 percent, held the Bulldogs to 25 percent and posted a 23-16 rebounding edge.

The gap was 60-25 after three quarters of play as Tech held FSU to single digits scoring for the third straight stanza.

"We really grabbed control in the first quarter and did what we needed to do," said Tech coach Kim Cameron. "I thought our ball movement was fantastic, and we were able to get a lot of players some good minutes tonight."

Danielle Blake had a great start towards a triple double with nine points, seven rebounds and six assists at halftime. She finished with a team-high 14 points, nine boards and six assists, playing just seven minutes in the second half.

Hannah Stoll came off the bench to record a career-high 12 points. Mackenzie Perttu, who started in place of an injured Morgan Anderson, notched a season-high 12 points. Lindsay Winter and Elizabeth Kelliher were also in double figures with 10 points apiece.

Kelliher added five rebounds, four blocks and three steals to go with her 10 points.

Tech finished the game at 50 percent from the field and a 40-30 rebounding advantage.

Michigan Tech will conclude a four-game road trip on Saturday (Jan. 16) when it faces Grand Valley State at 1 p.m.
