HOUGHTON, Mich. — For the second straight day, the Michigan Tech women's basketball team jumped out to a 41-21 halftime lead and cruised to a GLIAC victory at home. Today, the Huskies defeated Tiffin 74-56 behind 44 points in paint.

Kylie Moxley (a game-high 14 points) and Elizabeth Kelliher (12) combined for 26 of the Huskies' points with Kelliher resetting her career high of 10 set just yesterday.

Defense was again a hallmark of Tech's victory, with the hosts limiting the Dragons to only 10 field goals in the first three quarters and 19 for the game.

"This was a test for us with back-to-back games, and it was a success," said Tech coach Kim Cameron. "Any time you can get two GLIAC wins is huge, and we hope to build off what we saw this weekend."

The Black and Gold made 9-of-14 field goals in the opening quarter and finished the game at 50 percent shooting. Tiffin was held to 33 percent from the floor. Tech also used a 38-34 rebounding edge and 44-28 advantage in points in the paint.

Moxley added five rebounds to her 14-point total. Kelliher made 5-of-6 field goal attempts and added four boards.

Morgan Anderson was the only other Husky in double figures with 12 points. Danielle Blake notched six points and seven rebounds in just 22 minutes. Lindsay Winter posted six points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Michigan Tech will take a three-game winning streak on the road next week with contests at Lake Erie and Ashland. The first of those is at Lake Erie on Thursday (Jan. 7).
