THIS WEEK'S NOTES

STAT OF THE WEEK
13 • Points needed by Danielle Blake to become the 22nd player in Michigan Tech women's basketball history with 1,000 career points.

BLAKE POSTS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Danielle Blake recorded her second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds vs. Walsh last Saturday (Dec. 5). The senior forward is averaging 14.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.2 blocks on the year. She ranks third in the GLIAC in rebounding, fifth in assists and second in blocks. Blake's most impressive statistic thus far might be field goal percentage, where she is 10th nationally at 62.3 percent.

ANDERSON GLIAC NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Anderson has been named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week for her performance in a pair of Huskies wins last week. She averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The junior guard posted a career-high 26 points with the help of a school-record tying eight 3-pointers in an 80-55 win over Malone last Thursday (Dec. 3). She hit four more triples en route to an 18-point night in a 70-64 win vs. Walsh on Saturday (Dec. 5). Anderson averages 13.3 points per game on the season, having hit 21-of-46 3-pointers (45.7 percent) in six games.

WINTER STEPPING UP
Sophomore Lindsay Winter started her first two games as a collegiate player last week and averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the pair of wins. She had all eight of her points vs. Walsh in the second half including six in the fourth quarter of a six-point win.

MOXLEY TIED FOR TEAM SCORING LEAD
Kylie Moxley is off to a strong start in her senior season, averaging 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds over the first six games. She totaled 18 points in the 80-55 victory over Malone last Thursday (Dec. 3). The 6-0 Moxley is leading the team in scoring, having reached double figures in points in every game. Her 2015-16 start has been similar to her sophomore season numbers, when she averaged 12.3 points and shot 56 percent from the field.

GARDNER SHOOTING WELL
Kerry Gardner is off to a hot start shooting the basketball in her senior season. The 5-9 guard is 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range. She's already made more threes this year (12) than all of last season (eight). Gardner also owns an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.11 that's fourth-best in the GLIAC.

HUSKIES VS. FINDLAY
Michigan Tech will play Findlay for the 22nd time in the series which dates back to 1998. Tech won 75-60 last year in Houghton (Dec. 11, 2014) in the teams' only meeting. The Huskies have won nine of the last 10 vs. the Oilers.

HUSKIES VS. WAYNE STATE
Wayne State and Michigan Tech have met 55 times since the series began in 1981. The Huskies own a 39-16 all-time advantage including last year's 68-53 victory in Houghton (Dec. 13, 2014). Prior to that, the Warriors had won three straight. Tech's last win in Detroit was Feb. 5, 2011.

COACH CAMERON
Kim Cameron, in her sixth year as Tech's head coach, has put together a 123-33 (.788) career record. She is the first Division II head coach in Tech history to lead a team to a national title game appearance (2011) and was the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2015 and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2011. Cameron-coached teams have claimed three GLIAC North Division titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times—twice as the top seed of the Midwest Regional.

NEXT UP
Michigan Tech's only action after the Wayne State contest Dec. 13 and its next league game Jan. 2 will be an exhibition vs. Finlandia. That's scheduled for the SDC Gym at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19.
