Blake Named Daktronics All-Region

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech junior Danielle Blake (Midland, Mich.) has been named to the Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Basketball All-Midwest Region Second Team in a vote by the region's sports information directors.

Blake leads the Huskies in scoring (12.6 points per game), rebounding (7.6 per game), assists (102), blocks (60) and steals (55). The 6-0 forward was recently named to the All-GLIAC First Team and GLIAC All-Tournament Team and twice earned GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors. She owns five 20+ point games and five double-doubles on the season in addition to helping the Huskies possess the best scoring defense in the GLIAC and Midwest Region.

Tech's last all-region player was Sam Hoyt, who earned second team honors in both 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Michigan Tech will serve as the host for the NCAA Midwest Regional beginning tomorrow (Mar. 13) with quarterfinal games. The No. 8-ranked Huskies host No. 17-ranked Cedarville in a 5 p.m. tipoff.
