THIS WEEK'S NOTES

STAT OF THE WEEK
1.4 • Tech's nation-leading assist-to-turnover ratio. The Huskies average 15.0 assists and 10.6 turnovers per game. Only 45 of 311 teams in the country are 1.0+.

HOUGHTON NO STRANGER TO REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
Michigan Tech has earned the top seed and right to host the NCAA Midwest Regional this weekend. The Student Development Complex Gymnasium has hosted five previous NCAA Women's Basketball Regionals (1994, 1995, 2001, 2010 and 2011). The Huskies are 8-3 all-time in NCAA Tournament games at home with a six-game winning streak resulting in Midwest Regional titles in both 2010 and 2011. With its 18th total appearance in the NCAA Tournament,  Michigan Tech owns the most of any active team in the region (second all-time only to Northern Kentucky's 19).

HAPPY TO BE HOME
Michigan Tech is 16-0 at home this season with an average winning margin of 14 points. Tech is 71-6 (.922) at home since Kim Cameron took over as head coach in 2010-11 including a 12-0 mark in postseason contests.

RITCHIE NAMED GLIAC TOURNAMENT MVP
Senior Jillian Ritchie was named GLIAC Tournament MVP after combining for  39 points, 17 rebounds and six assists in three double-digit victories in the league tournament. The 5-11 forward had a game-high 27 points to go with nine rebounds in a semifinal victory over Grand Valley State. Ritchie, who averages 11.9 points per game on the season, is averaging 17.7 over the last three weeks including two games over 25 points.

GLIAC TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!
Michigan Tech won its seventh GLIAC Tournament title on Sunday (Mar. 8) and first since 2011. The Huskies' other crowns came in 1993, 1999, 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

GUY HITS SIX THREES
Kelli Guy went 6-of-11 from 3-point range and posted a game-high 18 points in the GLIAC Tournament Championship game win over Ashland. The 5-5 guard has posted 18 points or more in seven games this season and owns a 11.1 average. Guy has knocked down a team-high 65 3-pointers on the season with six games of five or more. She was named to the GLIAC All-Tournament team.

BLAKE FILLS OUT THE STAT SHEET
Junior Danielle Blake leads Michigan Tech in nearly every statistical category. She has team highs in points (12.6 per game), rebounds (7.6 per game), assists (3.5 per game), blocks (60) and steals (55). The 6-0 forward earned GLIAC All-Tournament team honors last week after posting 39 points, 28 rebounds and nine assists combined in three games.

CAMERON IS GLIAC COACH OF THE YEAR
Kim Cameron has been named GLIAC Coach of the Year for the second time in her five-year career. She has guided the Huskies to a 118-30 record (.797) and three GLIAC North Division titles she was hired in 2010. She is the first Division II head coach in Tech history to lead a team to a national title game appearance (2011) and was the GLIAC and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2011. Cameron-coached teams have advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times with a 6-2 record in NCAA Tournament games.

NEW FOE IN CEDARVILLE
Michigan Tech has never faced Cedarville in women's basketball. The Yellow Jackets, who are in their third year of affiliation with NCAA Division II, are making their first appearance in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
