Nordic Huskies Conclude Regular Season at Ariens CCSA Invite

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Nordic Ski teams are prepped for the final regular season weekend of the season, heading to Brillion, Wisconsin, for the Ariens CCSA Invite. Saturday's race will be a 7.5km Skate Interval Start, while Sunday will be a Classic mixed Team Sprint. 

Last time out, the women's Nordic ski team won its first CCSA event at the Coleraine CXC Cup. Anabel Needham won the Freestyle Interval Start, with Olivia Laven taking bronze in the race. 

First year's Synne Herheim and Greta Hansen were among the top-10, placing fifth and seventh, respectively.

In the men's race, Colin Freed won his first CCSA Freestyle Interval Start to lead the way for the Black & Gold. Wes Campbell (4th place), Jasper Johnston (6th place), Skylar Patten (7th place), Henry Snider (8th place) and Tryg Solberg (10th place) made it six Huskies in the top-10 for the day.

Needham was the low-stick for the Huskies in Sunday's Classic Mass Start with a runner-up finish. Synne Herheim was just outside the podium with a fourth-place finish. 

Campbell took fifth in the men's Classic Mass Start, just 2.4 seconds away from making the podium.
