Huskies stay at No. 18 this week

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech hockey team is ranked No. 18 in this week's USCHO.com Top 20 poll for the second straight week. The Huskies get back to action this weekend with a non-conference road trip to Clarkson.

Tech had last weekend off but played an intrasquad game at Dee Stadium. Team Black defeated Team Gold in a shootout after a 3-3 tie. Tyrone Bronte, Tyrell Buckley, Tristan Ashbrook, Grant Docter, Logan Ganie, and Brian Halonen scored in the game.

Tech received votes in the preseason poll and the October 4 ranking before breaking into the poll on October 11 at No. 16. The Black and Gold was in the top 20 four times last season with the highest ranking of 18 on February 15 and January 25.

The Huskies and Golden Knights meet at 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Cheel Arena. Clarkson is the third team outside of the top 20.
