Kero, Young Blackhawks Have to Grow Up Fast

Walking into the Blackhawks dressing room this season, you wouldn't find the nameplates that read Sharp, Saad or Oduya.

You would, however, notice a slew of plates with somewhat unfamiliar names. Three such tags reading Kero, Dano and Panarin belong to three forwards mostly fresh to the NHL. Since training camp, several other young players have gotten a look from the team, including Erik Gustafsson and Ryan Hartman, both 21, and Viktor Svedberg, 24. But the previously mentioned trio has made a larger impact so far.

"It's great to have the energy, the excitement that they bring," captain Jonathan Toews said. "I think even just in training camp, it got everyone going to see how hard some of these young guys are working and the skill that they were bringing. So it's been huge for us."
