Huskies Receive Votes in Final NABC Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Michigan Tech men's basketball received votes in the final NCAA Division II National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Top 25 poll, announced this week by the National office. It is the second time this season that the Huskies have been represented in the National coaches' poll.

The Huskies (14-7) defeated Purdue Northwest and Grand Valley State to reach the GLIAC Tournament Championship last week, where they fell to Ashland 85-77. Despite the loss, Tech has won five of its last six games and clinched the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Tournament. The Huskies play the winner of Southern Indiana and Lewis on Sunday, March 14 at 9:30. The tournament is hosted in Evansville, Indiana at the Ford Center.

Colorado Mesa (21-1) is the top ranked team in the nation after they moved up three positions this week. Northern State (18-1), Mercyhurst (11-0), Northwest Missouri State (23-2), and West Texas A&M (15-2) round out the top five. Michigan Tech was the only GLIAC team to receive votes this week.

The weekly coaches poll is being conducted by 16 members of the NABC, two representing each of the eight NCAA Division II regions.

All records are final from the 2020-21 season.
