THIS WEEK'S NOTES

STAT OF THE WEEK
10.0 • Turnovers per game by Tech this season—fewest in the GLIAC and fifth fewest per game in all of NCAA Division II.

HUSKIES GO AS HEATH GOES
Freshman Bryan Heath is averaging 17.8 points thus far in his rookie campaign. The 6-5 guard scored 22 points in Tech's 86-72 win over Malone last Thursday (Dec. 3) and 16 more in the Huskies' 83-71 loss to Walsh Saturday (Dec. 5). In Tech's two victories, Heath is shooting 58 percent from the field, 53 percent from 3-point range and averaging 22 points. In the three losses, he's shooting 26 percent from the field (29 from 3-point range) and averaging 15.0.

MONROE SIXTH IN GLIAC IN POINTS AND REBOUNDS
Kyle Monroe owns team-best averages of 18.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game through five games. Both those marks are sixth best in the GLIAC. Monroe posted 18 points and eight rebounds in the win over Malone and followed up with his first career double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Walsh. He also collected a career-best seven assists vs. WU, coming within three assists from the first triple double in school history.

GREGORY CAREER HIGHS
Junior guard Jeff Gregory reached double figures in points for the first two times in his career last week. The 6-2 Gregory scored 10 points on a pair of 3-pointers and four free throws last Thursday (Dec. 3). He surpassed that for a new career high of 13 on Saturday (Dec. 5) with 4-of-6 shooting (3-of-5 triples) and two foul shots. Gregory is presently averaging 11.5 points in league games.

GORDON THIRD IN GLIAC IN ASSIST RATIO
Dillon Gordon moved into the point guard role vacated by Jordan Chartier (injury) during the preseason and has responded well. The 5-10 Trout Creek, Mich., native owns 17 assists with just five turnovers on the year. His 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio is third-best in the GLIAC and ranks 25th in the nation. In addition to handling the ball, Gordon notched a career-high in points with 12 vs. Malone last Thursday (Dec. 3).

FISHER ON THE BOARD
Junior Mike Fisher came off the bench in both games last week. He scored his first career points with a pair of put-back baskets in the second half to help Tech to an 86-72 win over Malone. The 6-7 forward also posted a career-high three rebounds in the contest. Fisher has appeared in 11 career games for the Huskies—four this season.

SERIES VS. FINDLAY
Michigan Tech and Findlay have been two of the top programs in the GLIAC over the last decade-plus. In 27 meetings all-time, the Oilers hold a 17-10 advantage. Tech won 70-59 in Houghton last year to snap a three-game skid to the Oilers. UF has won 11 straight home games vs. the Huskies. Tech's last win at Croy Gym was Jan. 18, 2003.

SERIES VS. WAYNE STATE
Michigan Tech and Wayne State have met 81 times since the series began in 1949. The Warriors hold a 52-29 lead in the series, although the Huskies were victors in each of last four matchups including a 72-61 decision in Houghton last year (Dec. 13).

COACH LUKE
Head coach Kevin Luke has coached in more than 600 career games as Michigan Tech's skipper, with a 382-230 record (.624 winning percentage).  Luke is in his 22nd season on the bench for the Huskies and has led Tech to eight NCAA Tournament appearances and six GLIAC Titles. He is a four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year and was the 2002-03 NABC National Coach of the Year. The Huskies have had seven 20-win seasons under Luke.

NEXT UP
Tech will play its final non-conference regular season game of 2015-16 when it hosts GLVC opponent UW-Parkside at the SDC Gym on Saturday, Dec. 19. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
