What happened last week?

Apex: Legends

Husky Apex placed 13th last Saturday in the second week of Octane Collegiate group stages.

This Saturday, Tech returns to the third week of group stages.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Tech CSGO secured an undefeated 6-0 regular season on Friday. After a nail-biting, heartbreaking loss on Nuke in Overtime to Kansas State, the Huskies rallied to close out the series 2-1 with back-to-back wins on Inferno and Vertigo.

This weekend, the Huskies take on the winner of Rochester Institute of Technology versus Kansas State in the conference championship.

Rocket League

The B team's regular season ended with three wins and four losses. Falling to Rochester Institute of Technology and Oklahoma Christian University.

The Huskies sneak in as the sixth seed in the conference playoff, making round two after a forfeit win over Oklahoma Christian University Monday. This brings them to face RIT in the round of four on April 10.

The varsity squad fell to Lackawanna College in the conference championship, dropping its first set of the season Saturday. They now need to battle for their spot in the national playoff. In the first round of the Last Chance Qualified Tech bested the University of New Haven 4-1. The Huskies face Rochester University on Saturday in the second round. The winner advances to the national playoff, where the loser has another round in the LCQ.

The Huskies had more matches to play Saturday in the Great Lakes Collegiate Rocket League Spring Major. Tech placed third. First by taking a win off of GVSU's Black roster, before falling to GVSU Blue 3-2. Then, rallying in the loser's bracket to overcome Rochester University and Purdue. The Huskies were defeated by St. Clair 4-1 in the lower bracket finals.

Then, the Huskies took the top spot in the CRL NACE Last Chance Qualifier, with a 4-3 win over King University. Then, a 4-2 win over Davenport University. This qualifies Tech to face 47 other teams in the Collegiate Rocket League World Tournament. That tournament starts Friday. The Huskies face off against California Polytechnic State University.

Saturday, Tech secured third in the second Great Lakes Collegiate Rocket League Minor alongside St. Clair University after falling 4-0 to Grand Valley State. Tech first lost to Oakland University 3-2 but rallied through the group with a 3-0 victory over Purdue and a 3-2 victory over Western Michigan. The playoffs started well. Tech took down Michigan 3-1. But, unable to overcome GVSU, the Huskies could not repeat their first GLCRL Minor victory.

This performance qualifies Tech for the LAN GLCRL finals at Cleary University in Howell, Michigan April 8.

League of Legends

The Huskies defeated the University of Missouri 2-0 Tuesday and were good for two with a 2-0 win over Ozarks Technical College Thursday. This brings their record to 3-0 in NACE Varsity Premier.

This week, Tech faces Kansas City Tuesday and Maryville University Thursday.

Overwatch 2

Thursday, the Overwatch 2 team heads down to South Bend, Indiana for the Pilot Invitational hosted by Bethel University. Group stages are Friday and the playoffs are Saturday. The competition starts at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Tech takes on Albion College first. The stream is available here: https://www.twitch.tv/bupilotsesports.

Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate

The Smash team first faced off against Davenport Thursday to win the Conference Championship Play-In. Then, Saturday was unable to overcome Shawnee State in the conference championship. Monday, the Huskies took down the Panthers again but in the Last Chance Qualifier, this takes Tech to the national playoff.

Valorant

Over the weekend, the Huskies did not qualify for the cVal spring tournament after forfeiting their final group stage match against Bethany University.

Valorant took on Mizzou and Columbia College but fell 2-0 to both in the CECC Midwest Madness Regional.
