What happened over the past two weeks?

The Huskies prevailed over Purdue Northwest, Grand Valley State, Ferris State, and Davenport for the honor of first-ever GLIAC champions! With a first in both Smash and League of Legends and a second-place Rocket League finish - Tech dominated the competition.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Tech is undefeated after a well-fought victory over Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday. An Anubis pick nearly ended in disaster, but the Huskies clinched the map in overtime. Overpass was far smoother sailing with Tech starting on the stronger CT side, and the series ended 2-0 for Tech.

Last Friday, Ole Miss was clobbered by Tech on Inferno. CJ Johnson "Chowdz" led the Husky effort with 22 frags. For map two, the Ole Miss held on for 10 rounds on Mirage. The series was a comfortable victory for Tech 2-0.

The CS team is enjoying a scheduled break before playing Talladega next week. Tech is currently 3-0 in NACE Starleague Varsity.

Rocket League

The Rocket League team has been hard at work.

The supersonic acrobatic rocket-powered battle car Huskies were busy. Tech fell to GVSU for second in the inaugural GLIAC Esports Championship but took first over Rochester for the first Great Lakes Collegiate Rocket League Spring minor tournament title.

In Collegiate Carball, the Huskies fell early in the first tournament last weekend but battled all the way to the round of 8 in the second.

This weekend, Tech Rocket League is up against over 100 schools in the third CCA Open tournament.

In NACE Starleague, the B team faltered against St Lawrence 3-2, after a 3-1 victory over Southeastern. This week the Huskies comfortably prevailed over Penn 3-0. Tech is now 2-1 in the Varsity Plus Division.

The A team is on a tear. Undefeated, and sweeping both Lackawanna and Spring Hill 3-0 - little seems in the Huskies' way in Varsity Premier until the national playoff.

League of Legends

Last weekend, the Huskies stunned the GLIAC by upsetting the No. 1 seed Purdue Northwest for the conference title 3-1.

The Huskies got a win on the cLoL board 2-0 over UHSP after an FFW over Missouri Columbia the week before. Map 2, Aidan VanDrie "Oscar Wilde" dealt out 55,869 damage to champions as Caitlyn. This puts Tech at a 2-3 record in the Collegiate League of Legends tournament.

This week, League of Legends faces Pikeville at 4 p.m. for cLoL on Saturday.

Overwatch 2

In NACE Starleague, Tech Overwatch lost to Butler Tuesday 3-1. Isaac McKinney "Isaac" put 48 eliminations on the board as Sojourn and rookie Jess Stahl "Juice" scored 39 assists as Mercy on Ilios. The week before, Tech won over Independence CC 3-0. The Huskies are now 1-3 in the NSL Varsity Premier division. Tuesday, they face the titans of Harrisburg. The match starts at 7 p.m. and you can find the stream at https://twitch.tv/mtuesports

Two weekends ago, Bethel shot down Tech's dreams of qualification for the Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup Midwest Regional tournament with back-to-back 3-0 defeats.

Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate

The Huskies Smash Ultimate Team jovially cheers on their teammates to victory.

Huskies win! Tech was given the top seed for the GLIAC Esports Championship and they delivered a dominant performance to the trophy.

Before heading down to beat them at home, Tech took down Davenport 2-1 online in NACE Starleague. Last Thursday, the Huskies prevailed over West Virginia University Institute of Technology 2-0. Team captain Cam Kern "Carp" took 7 stocks as Ice Climbers game 2.

Thursday, Smash takes on Shawnee State at 4 p.m. looking to continue a 4-0 undefeated record.

Valorant

Tech Valorant had a rough past two weeks. St Clair is a tough opponent, and the Huskies were dispatched 2-0. Last week, Rochester beat Tech 2-0.

CECC qualifiers saw hope with a 2-0 win over Augustana, but Grand Valley delivered double 2-1 losses kicking the Huskies out of the Midwest tournament.

Tech seeks to recover Wednesday. Valorant plays Windsor at 9 p.m. Find the stream at https://twitch.tv/mtuesports.
