Apex: Legends

Apex returns with the Phase One Spring Series. Last week and this week cover the 4 group stage nights. Each group stage consists of six matches of competition. Each game matters, allowing Tech to collect points to qualify for the final round.

On Tuesday, Tech secured 23 championship points across six games. In game 3, team captain Griffin Wick "TheGr33nB3an" scored four kills. This put the Huskies in 11th place out of 20 teams in the group.

On Thursday, the Huskies scored 38 championship points across the six games. A Holmes-Serrano "sheep" secured six kills in game 4. Tech placed 7th out of the 20-team group.

This week, MTU Apex plays the final two group stage rounds.

Rocket League

Tech fell short in both qualification rounds for the Collegiate Rocket League tournament.

On January 15 the Huskies bested Ohio Northern, Toronto Metropolitan, and Seton Hall before falling to Rochester and Central Florida's Academy team two games to three.

Last weekend, Tech took down Clemson and Mississippi State before dropping to the losers bracket at the hands of Purdue. Then, to claw all the way back over Miami, Akron Club, and Georgia Tech the Huskies fell one game away from the loser's finals to Florida Atlantic 3-1.

This means we'll see the Huskies back again in the CCA open tournaments, the GLIAC invitational, and NACE Varsity Premier this season.

Valorant

Huskies Valorant lost in their opening weekend of the Collegiate Valorant Tournament to Kentucky 2-1. Waylon Alvesteffer "terminal" had 22 kills as Phoenix map 2 and Owen Quinn "Quinn" had 22 kills as Sova map 3.

Tech faces Northwestern on Sunday at 4 p.m. to close out the qualification phase of the tournament.
