    Former Michigan Tech hockey player Matt Roy received four team awards for his performance with the Los Angeles Kings in 2019-20 the team announced last week. Roy was honored with the Mark Bavis Memorial Award for Best Newcomer and was also named the Outstanding Defenseman, the top Defensive Player, and Unsung Hero.
  • Kautzer Named CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-American of the Year

    Michigan Tech Nordic skier Amanda Kautzer has been named the CoSIDA Academic All-America® At-Large Team Member of the Year to become a two-time Academic All-American. Kautzer is a senior from Plymouth, Minnesota, and held a 4.0 grade-point average in biomedical engineering.

    Fifty Michigan Tech spring sport student-athletes were honored by the GLIAC for outstanding academics. Four Huskies from the men’s tennis team and 46 track and field student-athletes were named to the GLIAC All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams.

    Michigan Tech runner Emily Byrd has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team. Byrd is a senior from Perrysburg, Ohio, and held a 3.82 grade-point average in environmental engineering. She now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.

  • Kautzer earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Amanda Kautzer of the Michigan Tech Nordic ski team is a winter sport recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Kautzer will receive a $10,000 scholarship to be applied toward the graduate degree program of her choice.

    Michigan Tech volleyball coach Matt Jennings has added a transfer and freshman to his 2020 incoming class. Setter Lina Espejo-Ramirez comes to Houghton from Midland College in Texas. Defensive specialist Leiya Rybicki, a native of Freeland, Michigan, follows in her parents' and brothers' collegiate path with the Huskies.

  • Hockey unveils 2020-21 schedule

    Michigan Tech hockey will play its 100th year of hockey in 2020-21 and released its schedule for the historical season on Wednesday (May 6) in conjunction with the WCHA unveiling its composite schedule. The Huskies have 36 regular season games that include eight nonconference and 28 WCHA contests.
