HOCKEY
Michigan Tech returns to regular season play this weekend at St. Thomas. The Huskies and Tommies will play on Thursday at 8:07 p.m. Eastern and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. Eastern at St. Thomas Ice Arena. The Huskies are 9-8-4 overall and 6-4-0 in the CCHA and are coming off an exhibition game at Northern Michigan Saturday where Isaac Gordon and Lauri Raiman scored.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech split its opening weekend of the New Year. The Huskies fell 74-30 at No. 1 Grand Valley State on Thursday and bounced back with a 59-51 win at Davenport Saturday. Katelyn Meister led the offense with 25 points in the two games. Tech is 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC and hosts No. 6 Ferris State Thursday and Lake Superior State Saturday at the SDC Gym.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies split their weekend downstate with an 87-64 loss at GVSU and a 59-53 victory at Davenport. Marcus Tomashek (17.5) and Dan Gherezgher (15.5) led the Huskies in scoring. Tech is 5-8 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC and returns home to host Ferris State Thursday and Lake Superior State Saturday.

NORDIC SKIING
Nordic skiing wrapped up its week at the US Cross Country Ski Championships in Utah on Sunday. Skylar Patten was the top CCSA finisher in the classic on Tuesday, followed by Wes Campbell in second, and Anabel Needham placing third in the women's race. Wes Campbell won the final of the junior men's skate sprint on Thursday and Greta Hansen also had a breakthrough performance in the junior women's Skate Sprint, making it into the finals before finishing fifth overall. Campbell again delivered with a fourth-place finish in the junior 10km freestyle, helping him qualify for the World Junior Championships (Feb. 5-11). Tech gets back to competition on Jan. 20-21.
