HOCKEY
No. 11 Michigan Tech split at No. 12 Minnesota State to wrap up the regular season. The Huskies shut out the Mavericks 2-0 Friday and fell 3-2 Saturday. Kyle Kukkonen scored each night with Logan Pietila and Tristan Ashbrook also scoring. Blake Pietila made 68 saves on the weekend. Tech finished the regular season 22-9-4 overall and 15-7-4 in the CCHA. The Huskies are the No. 2 seed in the CCHA Mason Cup Tournament and will host No. 7 seed St. Thomas this weekend in a best-of-three series at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. Friday, 6:07 p.m. Saturday, and, if necessary, 5:07 p.m. Sunday.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech finished 13-0 at the SDC Gym during the regular season with an 80-68 win over Northern Michigan Saturday. Isabella Lenz led five Huskies in double figures with 19 points. Tech (23-5, 15-3 GLIAC) earned the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament and will host No. 7 seed Wayne State in the quarterfinal round Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies fell 65-57 to NMU Saturday to wrap up the regular season. Dan Gherezgher (15), Pete Calcaterra (14), and Adam Hobson (10) scored in double figures. The Huskies (8-19, 5-13 GLIAC) earned the No. 8 seed in the GLIAC Tournament and will travel to No. 1 seed Parkside (21-7, 14-4) Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

NORDIC SKIING
Michigan Tech won the NCAA Central Region Championship over the weekend. In total, the Huskies had five podium finishes, along with the men's 5K freestyle champion in Skylar Patten. Patten also placed second in the classic while Anabel Needham finished second in both of her races. Henry Snider was second in the freestyle to round out podium finishes for the Black and Gold. The Huskies will conclude the season at the NCAA Skiing Championships on March 8 and 11 in Lake Placid, New York.
