Nicholas named Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing & Communication

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech Athletics has hired Zach Nicholas for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing and Communication. In his role, Nicholas will serve as the primary media contact for Soccer, Nordic skiing, and Track & Field. He will also assist the Director of Advertising Sales with the execution of partnership contracts and artwork.

"I am very thankful to have the opportunity to promote my hometown Huskies, tell stories of our incredible student-athletes, and establish and maintain strong relationships in the community," Nicholas said. "I am very appreciative of the invaluable experience and knowledge I have gained as an intern and am excited to continue with Michigan Tech in a new role. I would like to thank Athletic Director Suzanne Sanregret, Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations Calvin Larson, and the rest of the hiring committee for the opportunity to be a part of an athletic program I have looked up to my entire life." 

Nicholas continues with Michigan Tech Athletics after three years as an Athletic Communications Intern. He assisted with communication efforts, marketing, and graphic design. He has also helped with social media marketing, been a part of the promotional team, compiled statistics for home contests, and helped plan and organize various events.

Nicholas is a native of South Range, Michigan. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Scientific and Technical Communication from Michigan Tech in 2019. Outside of interning with Tech Athletics during his time in college, he enjoyed playing broomball, attending athletic events, and meeting new friends.
