SAAC to Hold Hat and Mitten Drive

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be holding a hat and mitten donation campaign at two sporting events in November. The first will be at Saturday's home football game against Northwood University followed by Tech's home hockey game against Bemidji State Friday November 30.

SAAC will be collecting new or gently used hats, mittens, and other winter apparel for donation to the Salvation Army in Hancock. In addition to these collection events, donation bins will be placed in the administration building by the elevators and at the SDC by the ticket office beginning November 12. These bins will be in these locations until December 14 to collect donations.

The Student Athletic Advisory Committee serves both to promote student-athlete welfare and to enhance the overall student-athlete experience. This committee is comprised of two representatives from each of the fourteen varsity sports as well as the dance and cheer teams.

The kickoff for Saturday's football game is slated for 12 p.m. while the puck drop for the hockey game is scheduled for 7:07 p.m.
