Jim Nahrgang
Inducted October 28, 1989

Jim Nahrgang was one of the premier defensemen to ever play hockey for the Huskies.

In 137 career games from 1970-74, Nahrgang registered 33 goals and 71 assists and is still the second highest scoring defenseman in the schools history.

Three times he was named MTU's most valuable defenseman, including his senior season when he also gained first-team All-American honors, All-WCHA first team recognition, and team most valuable player honors.

Following graduation, Nahrgang went on to play three seasons of professional hockey with the Detriot Red Wings before returning to his alma mater for stints as assistant (1978-82) and head (1982-85) hockey coach.
