Huskies Honored by USTFCCCA for Academics

The Michigan Tech track and field team had three student-athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments, during the 2014 season. Alongside the recognition, both the men’s and women’s squads were named USTFCCA All-Academic Teams.
Pengelly and Saliga Run at USATF Junior Championships

Michigan Tech track and field student-athletes Sean Pengelly and Jason Saliga ran at the 2014 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on Sunday (July 6). The championships were held at the historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Forty-nine Michigan Tech tennis and track and field student-athletes were named to the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic & All-Academic Excellence Teams.
Lane Becomes Fourth All-American in Tech Track History

Jani Lane became the fourth All-American in Michigan Tech track and field history with a seventh place finish in the 1500 meter run at the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday (May 24). His time of 3:48.84 was the second best time in school history.

Lane Qualifies for Saturday’s NCAA Final in 1500

Michigan Tech's Jani Lane advanced to the Saturday's (May 24) championship race in the 1500 meter run at the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday (May 22). Finals begin at 5:35 p.m. and can be watched live at http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule. NCAAs are being hosted by Grand Valley State.
Lane Selected for NCAA, Named All-Region

Jani Lane of the Michigan Tech track and field team was officially selected for the NCAA Track and Field Championship in the 1500 on Tuesday (May 13). He was also named All-Midwest Region in the event on Monday (May 12) by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Five School Records Fall at GLIAC Championship

The Michigan Tech track and field teams wrapped up the three-day 2014 GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday (May 2) at the SPIRE Institute. The men’s team finished ninth out of 14 teams with 32.5 points, while the women were 15th with three points.
Huskies Break Four Records Over the Weekend

The Michigan Tech track and field teams had student-athletes competing at the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., and the Drake Alternative in Whitewater, Wis., over the weekend. The Huskies broke four school records in the final competitions before the GLIAC Championships.
Two Records Fall, Lane Wins 1500 at Al Owens Classic

The Michigan Tech track and field teams competed at the Al Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 18-19) at the GVSU Track & Field Stadium. Over 900 athletes participated in the meet with the Huskies breaking two school records.
Wiedemeier Wins Pole Vault at St. Norbert Twilight

Two Michigan Tech track and field student-athletes competed at the St. Norbert Twilight Meet on Thursday (Apr. 17) at Schneider Stadium. Jake Wiedemeier won the pole vault and Mike Fisher placed fourth in the high jump.
Cousino Wins SJU Multi Over Weekend

Brent Cousino and Patrick Spalding of the Michigan Tech track and field team finished one-two at the St. John’s Decathlon Multi meet on Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 12-13). Cousino finished with 6,066 points, while Spalding had 5,984 points in the six-athlete field.
Track and Field Competes at Holst Invitational in Minnesota

The Michigan Tech track and field team competed at the fourth Holst Invitational on the campus of the University of Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday (Apr. 12). The Huskies had 16 top five finishes on the day.
