SAAC Hosting Annual Shoe Drive For Charity

The Michigan Tech Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) has coordinated a shoe drive beginning today (April 9) and will continue to run through April 27. All donated shoes will benefit the local Salvation Army in Hancock, Mich.

A total of 20 Michigan Tech men's and women's basketball student-athletes earned recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for academics as the league announced its Winter Academic Excellence Awards and All-Academics Teams presented by Meijer on Friday.

Winners of 2017-18 Michigan Tech Grand Raffle Announced

Michigan Tech drew the 20 winners of its 2017-18 Grand Raffle during Saturday's hockey game vs. Northern Michigan on Feb. 24. Bryan Harley from Beaverton, Mich. won the $10,000 grand prize.

Silver medals aren't strictly for the Olympics. Michigan Tech is handing out one of its own, to one of its own, this weekend. Dr. Bruce Trusock, '74, will be awarded the Michigan Technological University Board of Trustees Silver Medal on Friday, February 9.
Saturday is Econo Foods Kids Day at Michigan Tech

Saturday (Feb. 17) is the annual Econo Foods Kids Day at Michigan Tech. Tadych's Econo Foods of Houghton has purchased 500 youth tickets for Saturday's Michigan Tech Athletic events that it will give away beginning Wednesday (Feb. 14) at noon.
