HOCKEY
Hockey won the MacInnes Cup as Winter Carnival champions for the sixth straight season after defeating Bemidji State 5-1 Saturday at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The Huskies outscored the Beavers 7-5 on the weekend to capture the trophy after BSU won 4-2 Friday. Devin Kero was named MVP after stopped 36-of-37 shots Saturday for his third win in a row as the starting goaltender. Seven different Huskies scored on the weekend. Jake Lucchini and Dylan Steman found the back of the net Friday. Mason Blacklock, Brent Baltus, Mark Auk, Gavin Gould, and Greyson Reitmeier buried goals Saturday. Tech remains home this weekend, hosting Arizona State in the final nonconference games of the season. The two teams met earlier this year at the Ice Vegas Invitational. It is the Sun Devils third year in NCAA Division I college hockey and will be their first-ever visit to Houghton.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 16-ranked women's basketball team swept its final road trip to push the winning streak to six. The Huskies dominated Saginaw Valley State 71-43 Thursday and edged Northwood 86-81 Saturday. Kelli Guy led four Huskies in double figures Thursday with 17 points. Six players in the Black and Gold scored 11 or more Saturday with Hanna Stoll's 16 leading the way. Tech is 20-3 overall and 14-2 in the GLIAC and plays its final four regular season games at home, starting this weekend against Ferris State (Thursday) and Lake Superior State (Saturday) at the SDC Gym. The Huskies have clinched a spot in the GLIAC Tournament and currently sit first in the GLIAC North and second overall.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Men's basketball split its final road trip of the season. Despite a GLIAC record 50 points by Kyle Monroe Thursday, the Huskies fell 105-94 at Saginaw Valley State. Monroe tied Tech's record held by Larry Grimes from 1972. Bryan Heath added 18 points in the game. Tech bounced back with a 75-70 win over Northwood Saturday. Heath (19), Monroe (18), AJ Grazulis (12), and Isaac Appleby (11) all hit double figures. The Huskies are 13-10 overall and 10-6 in the GLIAC and hosts Ferris State (Thursday) and Lake Superior State (Saturday) this weekend at the SDC Gym. The final four regular season games are at home. Tech has clinched a spot in the GLIAC Tournament and currently sits in fifth overall.

NORDIC SKIING
The Nordic ski teams raced in Rhinelander at the CCSA Championship. The men finished second behind Northern Michigan, while the women were third behind NMU and St. Scholastica. In Saturday's 10-kilometer classic, Gaspard Cuenot (5th), Tom Bye (6th) Reid Goble (7th), and Mitch DeLong (10th) placed in the top 10. Amanda Kautzer placed ninth and Sarah Goble 10th in the women's 5K. Cuenot won the freestyle for the second weekend in a row on Sunday. Bye (5th), DeLong (6th), Reid Goble (7th), and Patrick Acton (10th) were also in the top 10 in the 20K. Sarah Goble led the women in the 15K with a seventh-place finish. Kautzer was close behind in eighth with Erin Lipp placing 20th. The Huskies will race in the NCAA Regional next weekend in Ishpeming.
