HOCKEY
Hockey swept Bemidji State at the Sanford Center to advance to the WCHA Semifinals. The Huskies won 5-3 Friday and 5-4 Saturday to advance out of the WCHA Quarterfinal for the fourth straight season. Jake Lucchini had three points each night. He had a pair of goals in Game 1 with Gavin Gould, Seamus Donohue, and Jake Jackson also finding the back of the net. Five Huskies scored Saturday with Mitch Reine, Lucchini, Justin Misiak, Joel L'Esperance, and Mark Auk recording tallies. Devin Kero had 22 saves Friday and 33 Saturday. The Huskies improved to 19-15-5 overall and will play Minnesota State in the WCHA Semifinals for the second straight season. The puck drops at 8:07 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Center Friday, Saturday, and if necessary, Sunday against the No. 3-ranked Mavericks.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 24-ranked women's basketball team fell 67-57 to Ferris State in the quarterfinal round of the GLIAC Tournament on Wednesday at the SDC Gym. Elizabeth Kelliher had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Kelli Guy (11) and Brenna Heise (10) also hit double figures. The Huskies received an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament, receiving the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region. Tech will play No. 5 seed Grand Valley State for the third time this season at top-seed and host Ashland. The Black and Gold won both meetings and head into the tournament with a 23-5 overall record. The official game time will be announced on Monday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Men's basketball defeated Wayne State 88-74 Wednesday to advance to the GLIAC Final Four. The Huskies then had their season end against Lake Superior State Saturday, falling 70-56 in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinal. Kyle Monroe poured in 45 points against the Warriors for his fourth 40-point game of the season. He also reset the Tech record for points in a season, finishing with 803 on the season. Isaac Appleby (13) and Dawson Bilski (11) also hit double figures Thursday while Bryan Heath (14) joined Monroe (15) as the scoring leaders Saturday. Monroe was named to the GLIAC All-Tournament Team. Tech finished the season with a 15-14 overall record.

NORDIC SKIING
The Nordic ski teams race at the NCAA Championships this week in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The Huskies will ski the classic on Thursday and the freestyle Saturday. Gaspard Cuenot, Tom Bye, and Reid Goble will participate on the men's side, while Sarah Goble and Amanda Kautzer will represent the women's team. Tech has five First Team All-CCSA honorees in Sarah Goble, Gaspard Cuenot, Tom Bye, Mitch DeLong and Reid Goble. Amanda Kautzer and Patrick Acton were named to the All-CCSA Second Team. Head Coach Tom Smith was also named CCSA Coach Of The Year.
