Tech Tennis Receives ITA Academic Recognition

Both Michigan Tech tennis programs were recognized as 2023 ITA All-Academic Teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday (July 11).

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams for all 2022-23 Spring Sports, and 58 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition.

Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 7-0 to No. 14 Wayne State Saturday at Gates Tennis Center. Last year's National runner up Warriors took 23 minutes to seize the team doubles point before handling the short-handed Huskies in singles.
Purdue Northwest passes Michigan Tech 5-2

Vitor Jordao came from a set down to win at No. 1 singles, but the recent struggles for Michigan Tech men's tennis continued with a 5-2 loss at Purdue Northwest Saturday at Park Forest Tennis Club. The Huskies lost a pair of three-setters in singles and fell to 0-3 in GLIAC play (0-11 overall).
Huskies suffer Davenport defeat

Michigan Tech dropped their second straight match by a 4-3 score Friday against Davenport University at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness Club. The Huskies (0-10, 0-2) continued a recent stretch of strong doubles play to lead 1-0, but suffered four losses in singles to remain winless on the season.

Michigan Tech fought to the final singles tiebreaker, but fell 4-3 to Lake Superior State Sunday afternoon at Gates Tennis. The match came down to No. 6 singles between Ricardo Nunez and Raul Volasco.

Michigan Tech men's tennis suffered their eighth straight defeat 4-0 to No. 28 ranked Lynn University Friday afternoon at USTA National Campus. The Huskies concluded their spring break trip to Florida and return to Houghton next Friday to host Lake Superiors State.

Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 7-0 at Florida Southern Tuesday afternoon at Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Huskies dropped to 0-6 in non-conference matches this spring. Florida Southern (7-3) won their fourth straight and are receiving ITA national rankings poll points.

Chargers handle Huskies 7-0

Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 7-0 Sunday afternoon to Hillsdale College at Margot V. Biermann Tennis Center. The Chargers swept doubles and continued with straight set victories in singles to pick up their third straight win. The Huskies fell to 0-4 to begin the spring. MTU continues non-conference play at Maryville on February 24 at 2 p.m.
