Dominika Bobik named CSC Academic All-America

Austin, Texas – Michigan Tech tennis senior Dominika Bobik (Wroclaw, Poland) was named 2022-23 Third Team Academic All-America by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon. Bobik played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Huskies this spring and was previously named CSC Academic All-District with a major in Computer Engineering (3.96 GPA).

She is the fifth Michigan Tech women's tennis player to earn Academic All-America honors and the first since Amy Palmgren (2008, First Team). Nominated athletes must participate in at least 50 percent of team games, complete at least one year of competition, and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or above.

"It is a much-deserved honor for Dominika," said head coach Kristin D'Agostini-Yep. "She has been a top student here since she was a freshman and we are very proud of her accomplishments on and off the court."

On the court, Bobik was ranked as high as No. 71 (ITA) in singles as well as No. 31 in doubles. Tech made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 16 years on May 1.

Bobik finished the year with a 8-7 singles record and 8-9 doubles record with partner Grace Eland. She was named All-GLIAC First Team for the second time in her career. Additional career accolades include All-GLIAC Honorable Mention (2021-22), ITA Scholar Athlete (2020-21), All-GLIAC Second Team (2020-21), GLIAC Academic Excellence Team, and GLIAC Freshman of the Year (2019-20).

Bobik closed her senior season with 28 career singles and 34 career doubles victories.
