Huskies stay in ITA Rankings at #48

ITA - For the second straight week, Michigan Tech women's tennis made an appearance in the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Division II Top-50 rankings, checking in at No. 48. The Huskies are 7-5 overall, including 4-1 in GLIAC play.

Tech dropped three positions from last Wednesday after a 6-1 home loss to No. 13 ranked Wayne State but has won four of its last five matches. 

No. 1 singles player Dominika Bobik (Wroclaw, Poland) topped out at No. 71 in the ITA individual singles rankings last week. She holds a 6-4 record. The No. 2 doubles team of Emily Cojocaru and Lauren Opalewski have been ranked as high as No. 49 in doubles this spring.

Michigan Tech (7-5, 4-1) is in second place in the GLIAC standings heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. Tech will host No. 25 Grand Valley State on Thursday, April 13 at Gates Tennis Center, followed by Ferris State on Saturday, April 15 for Senior Day. Both matches begin at 10 a.m. and are free to attend.

The Huskies have qualified for the GLIAC Tournament each of the past two seasons under fourth-year head coach Kristin D'Agostini-Yep. The team fell in the GLIAC quarterfinals in 2021-22.
