Tech Tennis Receives ITA Academic Recognition

Both Michigan Tech tennis programs were recognized as 2023 ITA All-Academic Teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday (July 11).

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams for all 2022-23 Spring Sports, and 58 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition.
Dominika Bobik named CSC Academic All-America

Michigan Tech tennis senior Dominika Bobik (Wroclaw, Poland) was named 2022-23 Third Team Academic All-America by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon. Bobik played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Huskies this spring and was previously named CSC Academic All-District with a major in Computer Engineering.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its selections for All-GLIAC tennis honors Friday (April 21). Four Michigan Tech student-athletes were recognized, including Dominika Bobik (first team), Grace Eland (second team), Vitor Jordao (second team), and Nikolai Prosjanykov (honorable mention).
Huskies tame Panthers in GLIAC Quarterfinals

Starting the postseason with style, No. 44 Michigan Tech women's tennis polished off Davenport 4-1 in the GLIAC quarterfinals Friday at Greater Midland Tennis Center. The third seeded Huskies (9-6) move forward to take on second seed Wayne State in the semifinals Saturday. The Warriors earned a first round bye and are ranked No. 8 in the country.

Huskies handle Bulldogs on Senior Day 5-2

No. 44 Michigan Tech women's tennis assembled a win on Senior Day, defeating Ferris State 5-2 at Gates Tennis Center Saturday to close the regular season. Neva Manas was effective in singles and doubles for the Huskies (8-6, 5-2), who head into the GLIAC quarterfinals next week.

For the third straight week, Michigan Tech women's tennis is Nationally ranked in Division II, up four spots to No. 44 heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The Huskies (7-5, 4-1 GLIAC) were ranked No. 45 on March 29 and No. 48 on April 5.
