Bonifas & VanLangevelde Named to CSC All-District Team

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech soccer seniors Cassie Bonifas and Gracie VanLangevelde have been selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team (Formerly CoSIDA), announced Tuesday.

VanLangevelde, hailing from Spring Lake, Michigan, was vital to the Huskies success this season and finished her career with 63 saves this season for a save percentage of .778 and a goals-against average of .933. She logged 1735 minutes between the posts, ranking 19th nationally and second in the GLIAC while accruing six shutouts. She was a two-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, coming in week four and nine. She earned GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors, marking the first honor for Tech since the 2016 season. Vanlangevelde holds a 3.91 GPA in exercise science.

Bonifas, a native of Pinckney, Michigan, scored five goals this season with a penalty kick goal against Purdue Northwest (Sep. 15) and the game-winner at Davenport (Oct. 15). She started all 20 contests and accounted for a goal and assist in the 2-1 win at Ferris State on Sep. 24. Bonifas saved her best season for last, marking the first All-GLIAC nod of her career. She holds a 3.69 GPA in biomedical engineering.
