ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Michigan Tech women's basketball team was held to a season-low 30 points in an all around clinic by top-ranked Grand Valley State, seeing the Huskies fall 74-30 at the GVSU Fieldhouse on Thursday evening.

"It was a tough game for us," head women's basketball coach Sam Clayton said. "Nothing went our way and we're going to have to compete better come Saturday."

Michigan Tech (5-6, 1-2 GLIAC) shot just 5-for-36 from the field through three quarters, as Grand Valley State (11-1, 2-0 GLIAC) shot 38.8 percent from the field, connecting on six 3-pointers while going 17-for-19 from the charity stripe. With one quarter to play, Tech trailed 61-15.

The Huskies played much better in the fourth quarter, doubling the total points scored in the final 12 minutes. First year guard Dani Nuest had four points in the final frame of the contest, logging over 13 minutes. However, the Lakers cruised to the finish line to win their fourth-consecutive game.

GVSU outrebounded MTU 54-25, with 20 boards coming on the offensive end, which translated into 23 second chance points.

Senior Katelyn Meister led the Huskies offensively with seven-points while Sara Dax had a team-high four rebounds.

Grand Valley State had a well-balanced attack, with post players Rylie Bisballe and Megan Crow each accumulating 12 points a piece. Ellie Droste led the Lakers with 13 points, while Lexi Plitzuweit produced a team-leading nine rebounds.
